Paytm to issue co-branded cards

Digital financial services platform Paytm on Monday said it would be partnering with various card issuers to introduce co-branded credit cards, with an aim to issue two million such credit cards in the next twelve to eighteen months. 

The company said it had designed a digital experience on its app that would allow users to manage their overall spends and have full control over the card usage. With this facility paytm will provide cardholders to make their transactions in real time. 

Companies can submit online bids


The Central Public Works Department on Wednesday selected three firms for the new parliament projects. They selected Larsen and Toubro Limited, Shapoorji Pallonji and Co. Ltd and Tata Projects Ltd, from the seven companies that applied for pre -qualification to bid for the project. 


The CPWD asked the three firms to sign affidavits saying they would keep the drawings secret before submitting financial bids by September 16. If they fail to complete all formalities, they would face action under the official secrets act. 

On Wednesday, the CPWD issued a corrigendum asking the three firms to submit the earnest money deposit of Rs. 9.5 crore each to access the tender document. The cost of the project was revised from Rs. 889 crore to Rs.940.94 crore according to the corregendum. 

Genelia D'Souza recovers from Covid-19


Genelia D'Souza, Covid-19 test resulted negative. Three weeks ago she was tested as positive and was in isolation period for 21 days. She didn't bear any symptoms during the isolation period. Meanwhile, the actress share the challenges she faced in these days. She said it was the most challenging period to deal with. No amount of contacts or technologies can kill the evil of loneliness. She is very happy to be with her family and loved ones she added.

Genelia D'Souza born on August 08Th 1987 in Mumbai. She has acted in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. Genelia is an East Indian, Christian from North Konkan, who knows to speak Marathi well. Her father Neil D'Souza and mother Jeanette D'Souza. And her younger brother named Nigel D'Souza, who works with Bombay Stock Exchange - BSE located at Dalal Street, Mumbai. Her father is an Senior Official with Tata Consultancy Services and her mother earlier served as a Managing Director with Pharma Multinational Corporation.

She achieved her first film award in 2006 for acting in the telugu film Bommarillu (House of Dolls). Santosh Subramaniam is the remake of Bommarillu. Bommarillu produced by Dil Raju and directed by Bhaskar. The film starring :-Siddharth, Genelia, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha. The film was released on 06th August 2006.  Genelia did her first task of modelling at the age of 15 being as a bridesmaid at wedding. She was called to act with Amitabh Bachchan for the Parker Pen Commercial. The selection was known just two days before exams. So initially she refused to act because of her exams the next day. But the director convinced Genelia to shoot for the commercial. She got nice comments from Amitabh Bachchan for Parker Pen commercial. He commented, she is good and her expression is marvellous. She further did a advertisement with Cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth in the fair and lovely 2003 Cricket World Cup ad.

When Genelia was offered a role in Tujhe Meri Kasam, initially she refused as she was not eager to follow a career in acting. But the film company didn't accept the refusal and kept contacting her for two months. She saw the telugu version of the movie and agreed for acting. In 2006, resulted a notable point in Genelia's acting career in South Indian Films. In the earlies of 2006, she completed two films in telugu. The romantic movie Happy and Raam. And then came the acting of movie Bommarillu, that resulted blockbuster. Her character was well received in this movie. And she was admired with Santosham Award for Best Actress and Nandi Special Jury Award.

Her Spouse Riteish Deshmukh and they have 2 children's. Riteish Deshmukh is an actor, television presenter, producer and entrepreneur. He is familiar for his great work in Hindi and Marathi Cinemas. He is the son of Vilasrao Deshmukh an Indian politician and former chief minister of Maharashtra. Vilasrao Deshmukh served two terms as the chief minister of Maharashtra. In the years 1999-2003 and 2004-2008. He passed away on 14Th August 2012. Riteish Deshmukh's mother Vaishali Deshmukh. 

Chris Cornell - statue damaged


Chris Cornell, was the popular singer of Sounder Garden and later Audio slave died at the age of 52 in 2017. The life-size statue of Chris Cornell, that stands outside the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle has been damaged.

The Museum officials reported to Seattle times that on Thursday the statue was covered with white paint or similar substance.

The damage has been assessed and the statue will be restored, the Museum officials said.

Chris Cornell statue was created by Nick Marra, is a bronze sculpture depicting late Soundgarden
vocalist Chris Cornell, installed outside the museum of Pop Culture on the Seattle. It was first displayed to the public on 7 Th October, 2018.

Chris Cornell was a popular artist. He was an singer, song writer, musician, leading vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the music groups - Audioslave, Soundgarden  (1984-2017). He was born on 20 Th July, 1964 and died on 18th May 2017.

Chris Cornell struggled with depression in his life. His death seems to be a suicide by hanging. He was found dead in the early hours of 18th May 2017 in his room in Detroit Hotel. His final performance was at Soundgarden Concert an hour earlier at the Fox Theatre.

Telnet is an upcoming movie of this year. 


Telnet release date is expected on 26th August, in U.K. and on 3rd September in United States.

Telnet has not yet confirmed a date, to be released  in India. 


The movie playing time is for 2 hrs, 32 min. 

Former Indian Cricketer Chetan Chauhan


Former Indian cricketer and UP Cabinet Minister, Chetan Chauhan 73, passed away on Sunday (16th Aug 2020) due to Covid-19 related complications, his brother Pushpendra Chauhan said. He was admitted at Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon.

Chetan Chauhan, who was also a Cabinet Minister in the Yogi Adityanath Govt., tested positive for covid-19 in early July. Earlier he was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI in Lucknow on July 12. Due to kidney related ailments, his health had deteriorated and he was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, where he had been put on life support.

Chetan Chauhan held the portfolios of Sainik Welfare, Home Guards, PRD and Civil security. The BJP leader was earlier elected to Lok Sabha twice. He is the second UP minister to have succumbed to Coronavirus. On August 2nd, state technical education minister, Kamla Rani Varun, 62 had died days after testing Covid-19.


Chetan Chauhan played 40 test matches for the country between 1969 and 1978 and scored 2084 runs at an average of 31.57 with 97 being the highest score. He also played seven ODIs scoring153 runs.


Till last year he served as the sports minister of the state. He was born on 21st July, 1947.

Vajpayee, the first BJP Prime minister, had passed on this day in 2018


Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was the first BJP Prime minister who served three terms as the Prime Minister of India., first for a term of 13 days in 1996, then for a period of thirteen months from 1998 to 1999., followed by a full term from 1999 to 2004.

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, born on 25 Th December 1924, and died on 16th August 2018.
